About HEX Color Codes
HEX color codes are a hexadecimal notation for RGB colors, widely used in web design and CSS. Each code is a 6-character string (e.g. #FF6B6B) representing the red, green, and blue components on a 0–255 scale. Colors in this explorer are organized by hue family (Red, Orange, Amber, Yellow, Lime, Green, Teal, Cyan, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Pink) and shade level (50 to 900), from lightest to darkest — following the Tailwind CSS convention. This systematic organization makes it easy to find harmonious colors, build consistent design systems, and select accessible text-background combinations.
